Graduation Checklist and Information
Degree Check
Please print and review the attached “Graduation Checklist” for graduation deadlines and details.
Once you have completed 135 units (approximately 3 quarters before graduating), or earlier if you like, you should contact the EEB major advisor, Sherri Mann, smmann@ucdavis.edu, for a check of your major requirements. During this time frame, you and your major advisor check to see that all major requirements have been or will be completed by your intended graduation quarter.
You should also request a “Degree/Graduation Check” from the College of Biological Sciences (CBS) Dean’s office, 202 Life Sciences. The Dean’s office will evaluate University and College level requirements to verify which of these have been met, and where you have University and/or College level requirements remaining.
The website for general graduation information is: http://commencement.ucdavis.edu. Please note that to graduate, a student must file an Application for Graduation with the Office of the University Registrar by the stated deadline – see link below. To participate in the Commencement Ceremony, a student must also register with their college by stated deadlines – see link below. These are two separate actions.
1. Filing For Candidacy to Graduate with the Office of the University Registrar
You may file for graduation online at http://registrar.ucdavis.edu/graduation/. The deadlines for filing for graduation for the 2012 - 2013 academic year are as follows:

Note: You should drop yourself from the Degree List either online or at the Office of the Registrar if you know that you will not complete degree requirements for graduation during the quarter for which you have filed. You must re-file during the filing period for the quarter in which you will satisfy degree requirements.
2. Registering to Participate in the CBS Commencement Ceremony
Once you have achieved the appropriate number of units, you may file for participation in the commencement ceremony. You must do so online at the College of Biological Sciences website: http://biosci3.ucdavis.edu/commencement/.

Petition to Declare a Minor:
If you are interested in completing a minor outside the sciences, speak with Sherri Mann, and also with the undergraduate advisor for your minor program to understand all requirements and for planning assistance. Minor program petition forms are available in the respective College offices and/or online at the CBS website.
