Graduation Checklist

Degree Check

Once you have completed 135 units (approximately 3 quarters before graduating) you should contact your major advisor for a check of your major requirements. During this time frame, you and your major advisor check to see that all major requirements have been completed.

You should also request a "Degree/Graduation Check" at the College of Biological Sciences Dean's office, 202 Life Sciences. The Dean's office will then complete the degree certification by verifying that all college and university requirements have been met.

Filing For Candidacy

You may file for graduation online at http://registrar.ucdavis.edu/graduation/. You may also do so in person in Room 12 Mrak Hall.

The deadlines for filing for graduation for the 2009 - 2010 academic year are as follows:

Participation in the Commencement Ceremony

Once you have achieved 160 units you may file for participation in the commencement ceremony. You must do so online. If you are signing up for participation in the ceremony go to: http://biosci3.ucdavis.edu/commencement/. The College of Biological Sciences holds two commencement ceremonies per year. Fall commencement will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009, and the Spring commencement will be held in June 2010. Summer and Fall candidates should participate in the December Ceremony. Winter and Spring candidates should participate in the June Ceremony.

Minor Program Petition:

If you are interested in completing a minor outside the sciences, talk to Sherri and the undergraduate advisor for your minor program for planning assistance. Minor program petition forms are available in the respective College offices.
